Carmen’s Birthday Cake

Carmen’s Birthday Cake

This week’s TWD is the cover of Dorie’s book, “Baking: From My Home to Yours”.  Although mine didn’t come out half as beautiful as Dorie’s (or half as beautiful as I wanted it to be), it was delicious.  Although, the marshmallow frosting was a bit much for me (I forgot how much I dislike marshmallows).

But it was good nonetheless – and everyone at the party loved it! I especially liked how the inside was kind of fudgy and it was complimented well by the marshmallowy outside.  But I would have preferred a creamier frosting.  And maybe strawberries on the inside layer.
