Still Single on Valentine’s Day?

Still Single on Valentine’s Day?

Look – just because Valentine’s Day is called “dia de enamorados” here doesn’t mean that you have to be IN love to have a great time.  And it doesn’t mean that you should stay indoors eating ice cream and catching up on your oscar films either.

Although lots of people think that Valentine’s Day is all about lovers, I dare people to think twice about it.  It’s about LOVE.  Do you remember when you were young and made Valentine’s Day cards for your Mom or Dad?  I do.  My parents still have the card that I made them when I was 9 hanging on their refrigerator door.  And I don’t know about you, but I love my friends.  Sure, I don’t love them in the same way that I do my boyfriend or that I do my parents or relatives.  But I do adore them!  Who’s there for you when you need cheering up?  Who’s there for you to keep your feet on the ground?

And to me, it doesn’t matter if you’re my friend for 20 minutes or 20 years, if we’re friends, you know that I got your back. And I know you have mine. And I love you for that too!

So celebrate love in all forms – new love, old love, friendly, love from your pet or family members – you get the idea! And maybe the 14th is a great day to start a new love!  Get out with those special friends and have dinner, get some drinks – throw a party, even!  (Invite new people!) Play cupid!

If you don’t know that many people or think that it’s hard to meet professionals with similar interests, I understand you completely.  Samuel Warde of Good Morning Buenos Aires has been living here for the past few years, dedicating all of his spare time to networking people.  He’s a friend of mine, and one of the coolest, most interesting guys you’ll meet here in BA. (Yeah, he’s a total superstar).

He’s organized an event with Good Morning BA, Internations.org (for which he is an ambassador) and several other local communities here in BA.  And it’s happening TONIGHT.

So who knows, maybe you’ll meet some new friends, or you can go with some old friends.  Perhaps you’ll get some ideas as to what to do this coming weekend or MAYBE you’ll make a date! In any case, this party is in Freak Restaurant – go up and introduce yourself to Samuel who will give you a ticket.  Save that ticket because there will be a raffle later on that night.  There will be some great sponsors, Sugar and Spice will be there with some cool raffle gifts – as well as offerings from the Park Hyatt, One on One Argentina and El Dorado Kayak.  Most importantly, there will be LOTS of really nice, professional people.

Me and my hot, single friends will be there.  And there’s no cover charge. What have you got to loose?

thanks! it was actually a LOT of fun! it was great to see a few of my friends last night – and I met new and interesting people too! Javier and I attempted to play cupid for a couple of our friends and although our attempts failed, everyone seemed to get along well and had a good time.
