Chocolate Amargnac Cake
This week’s Tuesdays with Dorie is a special chocolate cake that I fell in love with instantly. Dorie was fired as a professional baker after changing around the original cake to an absolutely devine chocolate Armagmac Cake and although I didn’t have all of the ingredients that are required for this particular recipe I improvised to make my own little creation that knocked the socks off of my friends and family who tried it. For example, I didn’t have the required walnuts that the recipe called for, so I used almonds instead. Since we don’t have any Armagnac, Cognac or Brandy in the house, I used some of the whiskey that we had lying around. As it was, the end result was spectacular. The only mistake that I made was that I didn’t put the cake up on auction on my Facebook profile.

hahaha ohhh roger, you know that by the time you wrote this email, it was already gone! don’t worry, next time I’m auctioning it off on facebook… unfortunately, for me, it has to be made in the moment since we don’t have a freezer (ahh the comforts of home!)

Don’t get me wrong …the cake was like nothing I’ve ever had before. So beautiful, so rich, whiskey-soaked plums in a paradise of tremendous dark chocolate.
